Around the World Cuisine from NYC

An around the world food tumblr started by this girl who loves food from countries other than the U.S.A...and telling her friends about restaurants in NYC they've never heard of from other countries.

I finally got to try Streecha Ukrainian Kitchen on Friday. These are Varenyky ($0.50 for each individual dumpling), which are potato dumplings, and a cup of borscht ($1.50 a cup). It is located in a basement somewhere in the East Village and proceeds go to the Ukrainian church across the street. I was very happy, and I like it better than most of the Ukrainian restaurants there. The old ladies were nice to me too. :D

EDIT 3/22/13: I went back again, and this time I had varenyky with holubtsi (Ukrainian style stuffed cabbage)
